Pacesetter Soccer Club, a nonprofit youth sports organization, was founded in 1980 in Sylvania, Ohio. We focus on training our players to become quality players while gaining lifelong lessons and experiences. We are committed to developing strong relationships with our players, families, and community businesses and organizations. Our mission is to create the best possible soccer experience for every player, regardless of skill level.

Who We are
Since our founding in 1980, Pacesetter has expanded to include: Sylvania Soccer Academy and the Sylvania Recreation programs, Pacesetter Little Kickers and Pacesetter Junior Academy, Pacesetter Dynamo (formerly Ottawa Hills Dynamo), and Pacesetter South (formerly Findlay Soccer Club).
The Pacesetter Soccer Club is viewed as a model for player development throughout the state. We offer a comprehensive training program for players of every age and every level to maximize each players potential, supported by experienced and dedicated coaching staff. The club’s vision is to empower young athletes to be confident, courageous, and creative. We are continuing to evolve, without compromising our core beliefs and values of being inclusive to all. We have seen success at the local, state, regional and national levels.
We are proud that many of our alumni have moved on to play at various colleges domestically and internationally.
Today, Pacesetter’s emphasis on holistic development creates life-long friendships and relationships that are maintained throughout their alumni years. This is evident in the individual and collective accomplishments in the Local, State, Regional and National levels. This is all made possible thanks to the support network of families, coaches, developmental staff, administrative staff, volunteer network, community and sponsors. This tremendous support network enables the club to bring the long-term vision to fruition.

A player centered environment is at the forefront of everything we do at Pacesetter SC. From first touch to first team, our vastly experienced staff members tailor our training to all ages and abilities to ensure each person is developing holistically within the four pillars of performance. Technical, Tactical, Physiological and Psychosocial.
Pacesetter has a clear pathway for player learning and development, and moving through the stages of development, our coaches are trained in all aspects of our club curriculum to ensure we have the capabilities to develop and progress every individual.
We are extremely proud to be a part of every athlete’s journey and we have seen many members of the family represent the club on the international, professional, semi-professional, and collegiate stages. This is not to mention the hundreds and thousands of high school athletes ranging from District, Regional and State pool level who have experienced wonderful memories of: winning as a team, competitive spirit and true passion to help each other on and off the field. Pacesetter illuminates our athletes to shine and thrive on the highest of stages, on and off the field.
It’s commonly understood that talent without hard work is nothing and as coaches, we have a huge responsibility to challenge our athletes and cultivate a culture of hard work, ensuring each person maximizes their limitless potential.

Dedicated coaches
Our coaches combine for decades of experience coaching and playing every level of soccer. They know the sport and they know how to train the next generation, regardless of their goals. Our coaches know how to bring out the best in each and every player. They teach, they mentor, they foster and they care. Our coaching philosophy consists of proper foundational development, full speed environments, and high pressure situations while fostering the ability to respond both on the field and in life. Our coaches each coach a maximum of 2 teams to maintain focus and stability.

Competition is the main experience in a high level soccer environment – whether that be competing against your own teammates, other teams or your family’s pet, competitive spirit must be encouraged across all participants. Pacesetter Soccer Club provides a tailored approach by selecting the right leagues, levels, and formats in which to compete, maximizing a person’s development and opportunities to grow their skillset both individually and collectively.

Pacesetter Park: It simply doesn’t get any better than Pacesetter Park. Our home fields are the best in class and always in peak condition thanks to our wonderful partners at Sylvania Recreational District. Our park is safe, family friendly and has multiple restrooms located all over the park.
TOCA Toledo: In partnership with TOCA Toledo, we are able to provide our athletes with the best facilities during winter months or inclement weather. As the Home of Pacesetter Soccer Club, our TOCA partnership boasts a full size 11v11 pitch and a full fitness training facility with top notch fitness staff.
KeyBank Fieldhouse: Home to our Staff Offices, Pacesetter Academy and our 4v4 and 7v7 teams during the winter months, KeyBank Fieldhouse is the place that we foster our foundation and club vision. Upcoming renovations are set to improve our space.

The mission of the Pacesetter Soccer Club is to provide area youth the opportunity to develop individual and team soccer skills to their fullest potential through access to expert training and opportunities for high levels of competition. The Club will address the physical, psychological, technical, and tactical components of the game while training to ensure the best soccer experience for each player. We endeavor to help our members develop into outstanding players and will encourage the development of important life skills such as good sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline and fair play.
The name of this organization is the “Northwest Ohio Youth Soccer League (NWOYSL). This organization is a non-profit, educational organization as described under the United States Internal Revenue Service Code, which must be maintained. NWOYSL is affiliated with the “Ohio Soccer Association” (OSA), which is affiliated with the “United States Youth Soccer Association” (USYSA). NWOYSL is a local competitive league that contains teams from Sylvania, Perrysburg, Toledo, Wausseon, Oregon, Findlay, Lima and Swanton.

The Northern Ohio Soccer Association (NOSA), a local affiliate of the Great Lakes Alliance_NPL, a part of US Club Soccer’s National Premier Leagues platform, is accepting club membership applications for the 2021-2022 inaugural season. It is our intention to serve the needs of the soccer community in Northwest Ohio beginning in the Fall of 2021.
Some of the advantages of being a Member of the Northern Ohio Soccer Association are:
- NOSA has different levels of competition to allow clubs to build teams in all age groups.
- Flexible League schedule that is focused on individual team/club/coaches needs
- NOSA encourages Input from ALL club directors.
- Clubs working together to ensure youth soccer development within the local environment
- A working relationship with both Central Alliance Soccer League and the Ohio Champions League (Both US Club sanctioned leagues) to ensure appropriate competition.

The Great Lakes Alliance (GLA) is expanding ahead of its fifth season within the National Premier Leagues. For the 2020-21 season, the league is adding a 10-U age group and will now offer two divisions for 13-U through 19-U age groups: GLA NPL and GLA Premier.
The GLA NPL (most competitive) and GLA Premier will be divided into two conferences per age group with geographical considerations to minimize travel.

In totality, the GLA now serves as a 10-U through 19-U regional soccer league for competitive boys and girls clubs. The 10-U through 14-U age groups begin play in the fall, with 15-U through 19-U age groups starting at the conclusion of the high school season.
The GLA consists of 400 teams from 62 clubs, spanning Ohio, Indiana, western New York, as well as western and central Pennsylvania:
The US Youth Soccer National League provides the top league competition in USYS and is comprised of three areas of competition. The primary league competition features 13 regionally aligned National League Conferences that operate team-based and club-based leagues while providing a qualification pathway to the current season’s USYS Regional Championships and the next seasonal year of National League P.R.O.
- National League P.R.O. (Player. Recruitment. Opportunity.) serves as the competitive national league format in which teams compete for direct advancement to the annual US Youth Soccer National Championships. Teams earn their place into National League P.R.O. each season through their performance in the Conferences.
- The National League Showcase Series provides opportunities for more teams to participate in showcases that match up similar teams from varying areas of the country in a national platform.

Elite Clubs National League (ECNL)
The ECNL is a U.S. Club-sanctioned league that was founded in 2009 with the main goal of creating the highest-level platform for youth soccer by enhancing the development and overall experience of the sport. The ECNL is a player-focused league in which they constantly find new ways to elevate standards to lead in the excellence in youth soccer.

ECNL Regional League (RL)
As the ECNL has continued to expand over many years, it has created a secondary platform referred to as the Regional League. It creates a bridge between levels and allows for the development of players in clubs through high-level competition. The ECNL RL is managed with the same standard of professionalism under the ECNL.
